Eat better, not less.
According to Canadian dietitian and food fan Claudia Lemay, there is no magic diet, pill, potion or practice that can take the place of understanding why your body needs food, what your brain does with those vitamins and nutrients and the damage that dieting does to your health and happiness.

Intentional hunger is a relatively new concept in the history of humans. For tens of thousands of years, humans ate when they were hungry (and there was food available) Food is right there in the first line of the hierarchy of needs. When we do not feed our bodies, things can go terribly, terribly wrong.

We lose so much more than weight when we restrict our food intake. In Hunger for Survival, Lemay uses humor and heart to tackle tough subjects like fat shaming, disordered eating, anxiety, low self-esteem and more. She thoughtfully and intentionally shares the science that shows us why we need to stop starving ourselves and then gives us the tools to do it.

Meet Claudia

Claudia Lemay is a Registered Dietitian in Burlington, ON. She has experience in many fields and specializes in promoting health and wellness through changing eating habits for long-term well-being. She also specializes in the nutritional management of IBS (including the FODMAPs diet), allergies, celiac disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes as well as picky eating/problem feedings related to sensory processing disorders and/or autism. She is SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) trained.
